I'm including some more photos from the past, these are ones from when I used to do the Light Horse re-enactment with Bob Pankhurst. These photos are from around 2005. I had the opportunity to ride at the Reserve Forces Day march in the city, and also do a ride at Dubbo.

I have to say that I found riding down Oxford Street with 100 other riders in full WWI military regalia thrilling, and also a bit scary. We had a police escort from Randwick racecourse to the CBD, with all traffic being stopped along the way.

I'm not sure if a fat woman in her mid 30's passed off for a 19 or 20 year old male soldier, but there you go.

So many brave soldiers and horses died in WWI. The figures are staggering, almost beyond comprehension. 60,000 Australian horses were sent overseas in WWI, and only one returned.
