A horse brass is a brass plaque used for the decoration of harness gear, especially for heavy horses and parade horses.
No longer just the domain of the tack-shed, the collection of Horse Brasses is a hobby enjoyed by enthusiasts the world over, and there are well over 3,000 different designs. Most modern horse brasses never go near a horse, but are manufactured specifically for collection and display.

Being a rabid collector. I have accumulated about 200 horse brasses. Some I have on display in the study, but the majority are stored away, but I do get them out and play with them on a rainy day.
